Edmonton bacon lovers unite

Bacon Day will be back in Edmonton for another year, and according to its hosts, they have planned for it to be bigger and better than ever before.

Thanks to the generosity of Smokehouse BBQ, the whole pig will be available for roasting this year, and guests are encouraged to arrive early to watch it go on the grill. Along with the pork, there will be an assortment of small bites being served, as well as stations set up that will be dishing up freshly prepared foods.

Baseline Wine and Spirits have contributed wine for the occasion to pair with the meal, there will be music provided by DJ Hector Castro, and a silent auction will also be a part of the festivities.

A popular part of this annual function is the Bacon Dessert Cookoff, and it will be back again this year. Chef Andrew Cowan will be back and defending his title, and attendees can sample and vote for their favorites. The beneficiary of the proceeds for the night will be YEES Youth Empowerment and Support Services. A local printer can design and produce customized pop-up banners for a recurring function such as this
