Coquitlam plans big celebration for Canada’s birthday

The city of Coquitlam is hosting a Canada Day celebration next month. This festival has been named one of the top Canada Day celebration in the area and attendees are encouraged to dress in red and white.

The day will begin with a Canada Day procession which will feature members of the public as well as several city councilors. This will be followed by birthday cupcakes for all.

The celebration venue will be divided into several areas. Adventure Park will have a climbing wall and the “Eliminator”, Community Drive is set to feature local businesses and community organizations as well as dance demonstrations, wall climbing and the chance to meet local government representatives and Coquitlam Lane will have information about city history, flag giveaways, the “I Love Canada” board where guests can write about the country and photo opportunities with councillors or the mayor. Other areas include Green Street featuring environmental information, The Meadow with art activities, art exhibits and arts and crafts vendors and Eat Street will offer food and beverages for sale. There will also be roving entertainers and musical performances.

Participating vendors may invest in banner printing services from Coquitlam print companies to draw attention to their booths.

The Canada Day celebration will be held at Town Centre Park on July 1 from 12:00 to 10:30 PM. For more information, visit the official event webpage.
