Construction of Milton mall presents new advertising opportunity to printers

Ground was recently broken for a new shopping outlet close to Milton last week. The new complex, called ‘Toronto Premium Outlets’ will be owned by Calloway REIT and the Simon Property Group and will be marketed to Ontario shoppers who head across border to the US to find the best deals they can at outlet malls across the border.

The new outlets are slated to open next summer, just in time for the rush and will be situated near Milton at Hwy. 401 and Trafalgar Road. Representatives of Halton Region as well as both companies, and developer partner SmartCentres will be on hand for the groundbreaking ceremonies.

As the first upscale designer outlet mall to be developed not only in Ontario, but in all of Canada, there will plenty of advertising opportunities for printers in the near future. Runs of poster printing and banner printing to promote the new stores and the grand opening of the mall will surround the area. The outlet is expected to be marketed as a local, cheaper and convenient alternative to cross-border shopping. Shoppers will be able to buy direct from a variety of brand name designers and fashion houses at 100 planned shops and score savings of between 25 to 65%.

The product range will include a mix of apparel and shoes, fashion accessories, home furnishings and specialty items, with the first phase opening at an impressive 360,000 square feet. The names of the centre retailers have not yet been revealed.
