Conservation Day in Brampton

The second of two Conservation Days in Brampton will take place on October 1 at Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School. This event will allow residents of Peel to bring in items that are often difficult to recycle. This includes household hazardous waste such as paint, electronics such as old computer monitors, re-useable goods such as clothing and paper items for shredding such as confidential papers.

Businesses and the general public often have confidential papers which they do not want anyone else to see after they have been discarded. However, many do not own a paper shredder which makes such confidential information unreadable to others. It may seem that someone not attached to your business might not figure out what the papers mean but if it is on company stationery everyone will know where it came from. Providing paper shredding services assures that confidential information will not get into the wrong hands and if it does it will be impossible to read. Printing companies can provide you with recycled and easily recyclable papers, shredding just makes things even easier and cuts down on the amount of processing that paper has to go through during the recycling process

The re-useable household goods brought in on Conservation Day will be donated to Goodwill; this does not include furniture which is not accepted. In addition to bringing in their household waste, the public will also be able to buy blue boxes, green binds, kitchen and garden composters and rain barrels at the school.
