Chilliwack fundraiser to give the less fortunate shelter from the cold

This winter, Chilliwack residents will have an opportunity to take part in an event that combines fun with helping the less fortunate.

The city will be joining others all across the country in celebrating The Coldest Night of the Year, which is a fundraiser that supports organizations that help the homeless and those who do not have enough to eat in their own communities

The event has been designed to be family friendly, and 2km, 5km and 10km routes have been set up for the walkers or runners to follow. In addition to this, a variety of fun activities have been planned for both before and after the walk. Branded corporate gifts, such as hoodies, toques and other warm clothing can be produced to give to each person who participates in a fundraising event like this.

In Chilliwack, the proceeds from the event will be given to the Cyrus Centre, which is an organization that helps local youth who are homeless or in a vulnerable situation. According to the walk’s organizers, it will be used to add new beds to the centre.

The fundraiser will be held on February 25th at 46510 First Avenue in Chilliwack. People who wish to participate are encouraged to form a team and come out to have fun while helping others. More information, as well as a chance to register teams, can be found on the Coldest Night of the Year’s website.
