Where ever you live, joining your local Chamber of Commerce can provide your business with many needed professional advice and services. The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce located in Fergus provides just that for businesses in the area. The Chamber of Commerce provides many networking events through the year in which a business owner can make new connections and increase the profile of the business by passing around his or her business card; printing several hundred copies of a business card is recommended.

Membership dues for the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce depends on the size of the company and range from $175.15 to $768.40 per year; those who run a non-profit company pay $175.15 and those with a second business pay an extra $101.70 for that business. The benefits of membership includes discounted merchant services, group insurance deals, discounts on office supplies and telephone service, a monthly newsletter and monthly networking events. Members can also apply to join Chamber Plus Networking which allows only one of each type of business.

As mentioned above, the Chamber offers several networking events. There is a monthly breakfast networking event on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30 am; the next breakfast will take place on September 28 at Van Gail’s Cafe in Fergus. There is also the monthly Business After Hours event which takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month usually at 5:30 pm; the next Business After Hours event will take place on September 21 at The Butterfly Garden of St. James Anglican Church, also in Fergus.
