Celebrate Chinese New Year in Calgary

The 2012 Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year with Ice Sculpture Carnival will take place at the Print company in Calgary printing services Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre from January 20 to 22. This free annual event draws approximately 20,000 visitors each year.

The New Year’s celebration will feature the Dragon and Lion Dance, Chinese music and dance performances, martial art demonstrations, folk art demonstration, food and an indoor bazaar featuring 46 vendor booths. Booth rental ranges in price from $250 to $600 depending on size and location. Vendors will be selling everything from festival items to gifts. They can also display promotional materials as well, such as booklets or catalogues describing their products. Brochure printer in the Calgary area can provide such items for very reasonable prices.

Concurrent to the New Year celebration there will be a display of ice sculptures created by sculptors from Heilongjiang province in China; the province of Print company in Alberta printing services Alberta has had a business relationship with the province of Heilongjiang and both governments agreed to take part in the celebration. The ice sculpture carnival will be on display in Doqing Square in front of the Cultural Centre from January 20 to 28.

Chinese New Year is the biggest event on the Chinese calendar and Chinese people who now live all around the world continue to celebrate it. It is the perfect way to teach their children about the traditions in their own country; it also educates those who are not Chinese about the rich culture and traditions of that ancient country.
