Canada-wide festival comes to Regina

Bioblitz Canada 150: Regina is taking place over 24 hours next month. This is part of a Canada-wide festival that is celebrating the diversity of wildlife in the country.

The Regina festival will kick-off at the Saskatchewan Science Center between 7:00 PM and 1:00 AM. It will feature drop-in activities, guided walks to see owls and frogs, and the chance to participate in insect light trapping. The Science Center will also be hosting 24 hours of events and activities.

The next day, a base camp will be set up at the Habitat Conservation Area of Wascana Centre from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. Visitors will be able to take part in pond dipping, turtle watching, and insect netting.

All of these activities are designed to give participants an understanding of the area’s natural diversity and how best to conserve it. Bioblitz in Regina will finish off with the Songs of Nature Concert at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum at 7:00 PM.

It is likely that organizers will be working with a Regina printing company to advertise in the community using posters and flyers that can be easily distributed in the city.

Bioblitz Canada 150: Regina will take place from June 9 to 10 at various locations in the city. Admission is free for all activities. To find out more about planned activities, visit the official event website.
