Calgary Women’s Day celebration to help local families

February 3, 2017 by

The Brenda Stafford Society will be marking International Women’s Day with a special celebration, and it has invited the public to come to this signature event.

Webster Galleries will serve as the venue for the evening’s activities. Attendees will be served both food and drinks, and there will be music and other entertainment to enjoy. In addition to this, there will also be prize draws and a silent auction. Brochures that give further details about not-for-profit groups that host events like this can be supplied by a print company.

Monies raised through the celebration will be used to help support the Brenda Stafford Society’s efforts to help local women and their children who are fleeing domestic violence. According to the function’s organizers, its shelter meets the needs of 85 women who need a safe place to go.

The organization is also seeking sponsorship from local businesses and service providers. Donations of money, auction items, or other gifts in kind will all be gratefully accepted, and those who are interested in lending a helping hand are asked to call 403-270-7240, extension 103.

The Brenda Stafford Society’s annual fundraiser has been scheduled for March 8 at Webster Galleries, which is located at 812 11 Avenue Southwest. Tickets start at $60 per person, and further information and an opportunity to purchase passes to attend can be found on the organization’s website.
