Calgary festival to celebrate the best in local food

Gourmands from across Calgary and the communities that surround it may wish to mark their calendars for the upcoming The Big Taste foodie festival.

Restaurants from all over the city will be participating in this 10-day event. Some of Calgary’s top chefs will be preparing both three and five course meals, which will be offered at a fixed price to the public who wishes to sample what the area has to offer. Both lunch and dinner options will be available, depending upon the establishment. Some of the choices will also include a BC VQA wine that has been specially selected to pair with the food being served.

In addition to the restaurants, 12 individual events have been planned that will offer diners a unique eating experience. Those who are interested in attending one of these will need to purchase their tickets ahead of time. Those who organize a festival such as this can have customized calendars produced to help them in planning all of the different activities that will be a part of the celebration.

The Big Taste will be held in Calgary from March 3 to 12. A listing of the participating establishments, as well as additional information, sample menus and details of the other culinary activities that will be taking place, can be obtained by visiting the event’s website.
