Situated near the west coast of Canada, Burnaby is the third largest city in the province of British Columbia. First serving as an agricultural supply location for the already established Vancouver and New Westminster, it became an important supply route between the coast and the country’s interior. Taking a trip along Kingsway, the main drag, you will come across lots of small businesses vying for your attention. Car dealerships, fitness centres and many restaurants compete for custom, with many of them using poster and banner printing to catch your eye. Further down the road, you will come to Metropolis at Metrotown. This sprawling mall is home to more than 450 shops and a 10 screen cinema, and is the largest in British Columbia. Access to the mall is served by a frequent bus service and the Skytrain, one of the longest, unmanned, elevated railways in the world.
Burnaby is not all about shopping. True to its rural roots, it has one of the highest parkland-to-resident ratios in the whole of North America, meaning that there’s plenty to do, whether it’s kayaking at Deer Lake or mountain biking at Burnaby Mountain.
