The Downtown Print company in Woodstock printing services Woodstock Business Improvement Association is dedicated to the promotion and beautification of the area. Their aim is to create district branding theme of “the place to Shop, Dine, Work and Play in Woodstock and Oxford County” with a consistent “look, sound and feel” through their Destination Downtown campaign. The look aspect of the campaign refers to a consistent printing design for seasonal street banners, business cards, print ads and inserts giving them a uniform look.

To help promote the Destination Downtown campaign, the BIA holds various events in the downtown area. The next great event sponsored by the BIA in Woodstock is Summer Streetfest which will take place in downtown Woodstock from August 4 to 7. Summer Streetfest features live entertainment, an outdoor art show, music and a Sunday car show. A section of Dundas St is closed off to traffic and various stores and restaurants in the area will open their doors and welcome the public in. This yearly festival (now in its 37th year) is always a success and draws people to downtown Woodstock for several surrounding communities in Oxford County.

With big box stores such as Wal-Mart and Costco seemingly taking over and earning the bulk of the consumer’s dollar, many downtown areas in large and small cities are fighting back and trying to draw shoppers back. Events such as the Woodstock Summer Streetfest bring people back to the downtown area and allow them to get to know the type of stores, restaurants and businesses that are available in their town. In addition, many stores will be offering sales promotions during the festival.
