Arts to take over Dartmouth waterfront

June 12, 2017 by

Artstravaganza is taking place this month and will be held at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth.

The evening festival features musical performers, dancers, acrobats and visual artists. Artists will be displaying handmade works of art including sculptures, paintings, pottery, ceramic and prints. Furthermore, they will be providing live demonstrations of their processes and hosting some hands-on children’s art activities.

Entertainment is provided by the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo and performers this year will include the Calgary Stetsons, the Scotch College Pipe Band, the Groove Onkels and the US Fleet Forces Band.

There will be a Kids’ Zone that is set to feature a bounce castle and several giant board games. Food and beverages can also be purchased at several local restaurants.

For those who don’t want the event to end, there will be an after-party held at Graham’s Grove. It will feature a performance by The Melltones beginning at 7:45pm and a Pre-Canada Day fireworks display scheduled for 9:45pm.

The event is set to attract lots of Dartmouth families who want to start celebrating Canada Day early. Local print companies often provide printed products to advertise in the community.

Artstravaganza is taking place at Ferry Terminal Park and on Portland Street on June 30 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. Admission is free. For more information about this event, contact Alderney Landing at 902-461-8401.
