Annual walkathon to help area hospital

The 3rd annual Walk n’ Roll Fest for Healthy Kids is taking place in Etobicoke next month. It is a fundraising event for the William Osler Health System Foundation of the Etobicoke General Hospital.

This is a 5K walk and at least 27 teams of participants are expected to take part. Walkers can join in as individuals or in teams. Funds are raised by participants soliciting pledges from family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Registered walkers will receive a wristband that will allow them to have a free lunch, take part in the family festival afterwards, and make them eligible to win prizes.

The festival will have plenty of family-friendly activities and entertainment. Sponsorship are available for $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000, and those involved will have their company logo appear on signage and banners at the site. All three sponsorships come with a 10 x 10 vendor’s tent, meaning local businesses and community organizations will have the chance to showcase their products and services.

Funds raised at this event will be donated to children’s and women’s care services at Etobicoke General Hospital. Etobicoke print companies are often asked to provide pledge forms and T-shirts for fundraising events like this.

The Walk n’ Roll Fest for Healthy Kids will be held at Woodbine Racetrack on June 4 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon. Contact Tannis Wengel at 416-747-3388 for more information.
