Annual fundraiser promises a magical event

The 23rd annual Treasures of Christmas is taking place in Coquitlam this month. It is a fundraiser for the Crossroads Hospice Society.

Guests will be able to make donations to several other no-profit organizations such as the Zajac Ranch and Tri-cities Transitions through giving trees that will be on display at the event. They will be treated to a Christmas buffet dinner with wine.

There will be both silent and live auctions featuring a variety of exciting prizes. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase during the evening, with a grand prize of a Caribbean cruise for two. Tickets will be drawn in January and cost $10 for three.

Emcees for the event are Karen Daniels and Clay St. Thomas. Musical entertainment will be provided during the evening by the Forward Motion Jazz Orchestra and Dr. Strangelove.

The Crossroads Hospice Society provides services to the Tri-Cities, which consist of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. Some of those services include bereavement information, grief support and one-on-one volunteer help.

Organizers may have invested in flyer printing services from a favorite Coquitlam printer to spread the word.

The Treasures of Christmas Gala will be held at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on November 19, beginning at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $125 each and tables of 10 are available. Valet parking is provided free of charge. To find out more about this event, or about the Crossroads Hospice Society, call 604-945-0606.
