Abbotsford event to raise funds for water

April 27, 2017 by

Residents of Abbotsford are being asked to lend hand to an event that will raise money to help provide water security to people living in Ethiopia.

Run For Water, which will take place in Mill Lake Park, will include an assortment of runs and walks, so all levels of ability will be able to participate. People can run, walk, or roll in the 5 kilometer fun run, and there will also be a 10 kilometer run, a half marathon, and a trail run. All of the races can be timed if the runner wishes, and following the races, there will be an awards ceremony to both recognize the fastest and thank the community for its support.

Each person who participates will receive a commemorative T-shirt, so long as they register before the deadline. Runners can also choose to purchase branded merchandise during the Race Expo and also on race day itself. Marathon Photos will be on hand to take photos of the racers, which they can then download and share. A printer can supply the organizers of a fundraising function such as this with a range of services, including logo design.

The Run for Water has been scheduled for May 28 in Mill Lake Park. Additional details, as well as an opportunity to register, have been made available on the event’s website.
