June 28, 2011 by

3S, a commercial Print company in print company printing services print company based in BC and serving areas like Print company in Langley printing services Langley and Print company in Richmond printing services Richmond, has regrettably closed its doors and will no longer offer Print company in printing services printing services printing services to the public.

3S did manage to obtain creditor protection in January 2011, however this was suspended in May 2011. The company was not able to raise enough working capital and cash flow to meet its obligations. The company owed more than $10 million in debt, owing its largest creditor CTI Financial $4 million. The insolvency was announced last week and a spokesperson at 3S was not available for comment.

The insolvency of 3S and other similar entities represents an important message to large companies offering printing services to clients: diversify to accommodate local client and corporate printing needs, especially in areas of cutthroat competition, and be mindful of rapid growth and key investments. Companies should also keep up with the latest technologies that will allow the creation and production of complex, specialty needs to ensure a steady stream of new and repeat business.

3S’s business began in 1991 as a team of three and then later grew to a staff of more than 45 printers. The company then later acquired Acadia Printing, Landsdowne Press, and West Pro Graphics, complicating and expanding its operations. In 2006, 3S moved into a brand new facility, with double the printing space.

While the operations of 3S will be missed by patrons and communities which it serviced, former competitors in the area should market themselves more intensely over the coming months to attract 3S’s former clients.
